Chickenfoot Update
If anyone still hasn’t heard of this band, Chickenfoot basically is the second incarnation of Van Halen with Joe Satriani instead of Edward Van Halen and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer) instead of Alex – which makes Chickenfoot’s new CD one of the most anticipated new discs ever.
The members of this band automatically equal great expectations, but then pile on top of that all of the BIG statements that have come from band members about how great the band is – Sammy Hagar even invoked Led Zep!
Anyhow, the new CD is done and should be out in April or May, apparently with a tour to follow. Hopefully some behind-the-scenes info will be out before that as Chickenfoot will be on the cover of the June Guitar World, which will be on the streets in early April. (Guitar World has blown some great interview opportunities in the recent past, but hopefully it won’t blow this one.)
Satch recently had this to say about the band: “Thinking back, it seemed kind of crazy to join a new band just as I was about to release Professor Satchifunkilus…and launch its world tour. All the hard work paid off though.
“The Chickenfoot CD should be out in about a month or two. As a new band, Chickenfoot will do a few CD release party gigs in May to kick things off, then it’s off to Europe for a few weeks of summer festivals. We are looking towards a headlining tour in the USA this fall.
“I’m so excited about bringing our new band and music to the stage. The energy this unit puts out is incredible, absolutely amazing. Chickenfoot Rocks!”
Yeah!
It looks like the band will play the entire new CD as well as songs from each of the band members’ other bands.
